Melissa Janine Westig

I am a compassionate and hard-working Occupational Therapist, dedicated to collaborating with clients to reach their therapeutic goals and promoting lifestyle balance to achieve activity health.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2020, completing my community service year in Ekurhuleni North District Clinics in 2021. During this time, I developed an interest in physical and adolescent therapy.

In 2022, I joined Elandspark School in Germiston, Ekurhuleni, working with LSEN (Learners with Special Educational Needs) adolescent learners aged 12 to 18. To expand my knowledge, I transitioned to private practice in the North West Province, focusing on school-based, hospital-based, sub-acute, and physical Occupational Therapy.

In 2023, I established my private practice, allowing me to offer my skills and services to the community while growing as an independent practitioner. Based in Kensington, Johannesburg, I conduct home and school visits (subject to school consent).

Additionally, I have worked as a locum in Sensory Integration practices and, starting in 2024, joined Jane Baker Occupational Therapy at Sunninghill and Waterfall Netcare Hospital to gain more experience in Hand Therapy and in-hospital Occupational Therapy.
